Random sharing: I was waiting somewhere below a hdb flat for my friends to arrive and witnessed a random yet meaningful sight. A grandmother and her granddaughter (probably 5 or 6-year-old, wearing her school uniform) were walking towards my direction. The grandmother dropped a piece of tissue paper that she was holding onto as she was distracted and was looking at another direction – checking if her husband and another lady (the child's mother because I heard the girl saying, 'mummy, hurry!') could manage the stuff that they were unloading from the car. The granddaughter said, 'Ahma! Tissue 掉了! (Tissue dropped already!)' To which the grandmother replied, '不用緊啦! (Nevermind la!)' and proceeded to press the lift. I was expecting the granddaughter to follow the grandmother to the lift or perhaps run to her mother to rush her, but instead.. this little girl bent down, picked up the piece of tissue paper and walked to the bin to throw it!! 👏👏👏 Some other kids could have chosen to ignore the piece of tissue paper that the grandmother dropped or could have insisted that the grandmother pick up the tissue paper but this lil' girl chose to pick it up for her grandmother and threw it in the bin silently. She must have learned this simple act somewhere – be it from home or from school – I think it speaks alot! 😌 #shinekoh_thoughtjourney
